FEDERAL WAY, WA – According to KIRO 7, a hit-and-run driver struck and injured a tow truck driver while loading a vehicle on the shoulder of WA 18 WB near Weyerhaeuser Way on Tuesday.
.John A. Hooven, 58, was driving a 2019 Hyundai Sonata and drifting between lanes when he strayed onto the shoulder and hit the victim around 8:20 p.m.
Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Following the collision, the driver fled the scene on foot.
Authorities located Hooven and arrested him for vehicular assault, DUI, and hit-and-run.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
