TACOMA, WA – According to KIRO 7, a driver died after hitting a semi-truck on I-5 NB near Pacific Ave on Thursday.
The driver was heading north on I-5 when he lost control of his vehicle around 11:20 p.m. before slamming into a semi-truck and plowing into a barrier.
Paramedics pronounced the car driver dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not hurt in the collision.
It is unclear if the car driver was impaired. Officials have not yet identified him.
Following the crash, crews shut down the highway for over four hours so the Washington State Patrol could investigate.
