KENT, WA – Authorities responded to a two-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon, August 24, that claimed the life of one driver and left the other critically injured, according to The Seattle Times.
The fatal accident took place in the area of South 272nd Street and Lake Fenwick Road South.
A preliminary investigation by the King County Sheriff’s Office indicates a woman was driving westbound on South 272nd Street when her vehicle was hit head-on by an eastbound car that had veered across the median and into her lane.
Officials confirmed the death of the victim driver following the collision. The wrong-way driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital in the Seattle area.
It’s unclear at this time whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision, but an investigation remains underway.
