PIERCE COUNTY, WA – A driver fatally collided with a woman on I-5 SB near the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Main Gate on Monday, according to KOMO.
The driver hit a woman who was standing in one of the lanes around 10:35 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene following the collision. The driver and passenger were not hurt in the crash.
Crews shut down the area for around three hours to process the scene.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
