PUYALLUP, WA – According to FOX 13, a wrong-way driver died after he collided with another vehicle on WA 512 near Canyon Rd E on Wednesday.
A 58-year-old man was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette east on WA 512 when he strayed into the westbound lanes and slammed into a cable barrier on the opposite of the road. He then reentered the westbound lanes and hit another vehicle around 9 p.m. The man was not wearing a seatbelt.
Rescue crews pronounced the 58-year-old man dead at the scene. Officials have not released his name pending the notification of next of kin. They transported three women from the other car to an area hospital.
It is unclear if impairment was a factor in the collision.
The Washington State Police Patrol is investigating the incident.
