SNOHOMISH, WA – According to KOMO, a man was using a Tesla’s “Full Self Driving” system when he struck and killed a motorcyclist at WA 522 EB and Fales Rd on April 19.
A 54-year-old man was driving a 2022 Tesla Model S on his way home behind a motorcycle ridden by Jeffrey Nissen, 28, when he looked at his phone. The Tesla surged forward and hit Nissen.
Nissen became pinned underneath the Tesla. Rescue crews pronounced Nissen dead at the scene.
Authorities arrested the Tesla driver for Vehicular Homicide. They have recently determined that the Tesla was operating on “Full Self Driving” mode after downnloading information from the Tesla.
