ROY, WA – According to Trooper John Dattilo, a semi-truck driver struck and killed a woman on WA 702 near 40th Ave S on Thursday.
Troopers and @wsdot_tacoma are on scene of a semi-truck vs pedestrian collision on SR 702 east of 40th. I’m saddened to announce that the pedestrian has died as a result of the crash.

The semi-truck driver was heading east when they hit a woman in her late 70s. It is unclear if the victim was in the roadway during the crash.
Following the collision, crews blocked the road to process the scene.
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
