KING COUNTY, WA — A collision Friday afternoon blocked a lane on Interstate 405 in Kirkland’s Everest area, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident, which impacted the southbound lanes of I-405 just south of Northeast 70th Place, was first reported by WSDOT at 1:55 p.m.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m., WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) and the Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to the scene. Delays were anticipated in the area as the right southbound lane remained closed during the emergency response.

Just before 3:00 p.m., nearly an hour later, crews had cleared the wreck, leaving all travel lanes open to motorists.

Officials did not immediately indicate whether anyone was seriously injured in the incident.
