SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle accident Monday afternoon close a left lane on southbound Interstate 5 in Seattle’s University District, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The wreck occurred on the southbound lanes of I-5 at Northeast 50th Street and was first reported at 3:50 p.m.
Little information has been released at this time, but the left southbound lane was blocked in the immediate aftermath.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m., WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT), the Washington State Patrol, and local firefighters had all responded to the scene.
Motorists were warned of delays impacting the area.

While footage captured at the scene shows at least one fire engine responding, officials have not confirmed any injuries following the incident.
