SEATTLE, WA — Authorities were called to a collision early Monday near the Seattle Public Library – Central Library in downtown Seattle, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
The accident unfolded on a stretch of Madison Street at 5th Avenue and was first reported by SDOT at 1:05 a.m.
Details remain limited, but crews had the two left westbound lanes of Madison Street closed at the intersection during the emergency response and initial investigation. Motorists were asked to take extra caution as they approach the area.

By 1:51 a.m. more than 45 minutes later, the scene had been cleared from the roadway and all travel lanes were reported reopened.
