WHATCOM COUNTY, WA — Injuries were reported following a two-truck collision Tuesday morning on Interstate 5 in Bellingham, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.
The crash happened on the northbound lanes just north of West Bakerview Road. It was first reported by the Washington State Department of Transportation some time after 4:00 a.m.
Details are limited, but Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding indicated a semi and a tow truck were involved, and at least one person suffered injuries. It was unclear whether that person had to be taken to a hospital.
Northbound motorists in the area were forced to re-route onto Bakerview Road as crews worked to clear the scene.
By 5:11 a.m., over an hour after the initial WSDOT report, all travel lanes were announced reopened.
