KING COUNTY, WA — One person was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when their car went 20 feet down an embankment and into a body of water in Auburn, according to KOMO News.
The accident happened in the 23700 block of Flaming Geyser Road, prompting a response from Puget Sound Fire crews at around 5:49 p.m.
An early investigation indicates that the vehicle’s engine compartment went into what appears to be the Green River, bringing downed power lines along with it. Officials said the rescue operations were slowed by the wires, but crews were ultimately able to have the injured victim treated at the scene a King County Medical Center One paramedic and other firefighters. Shortly after, the patient was rushed to a Seattle local hospital for serious injuries.
Multiple other area crews, including Enumclaw Fire Department, Valley Regional Fire Authority, and South King Fire & Rescue all joined rescue operations at the scene.
