KING COUNTY, WA — A hit-and-run pedestrian crash Sunday night in Kent claimed the life of an 84-year-old woman, according to KOMO News.
The incident unfolded in the 800 block of Central Avenue South at about 8:15 p.m.
Kent Police Department officials said they received multiple reports about the woman, who appeared to be lying unresponsive in the roadway. Officers and first responders later arrived to find the woman deceased at the scene.
According to one witness account, the victim had been walking across the northbound roadway, outside of a designated crosswalk, just before she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Another witness described the fleeing vehicle as a “smaller red sedan” which had hit the victim head-on.
