SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle accident Thursday afternoon blocked at least part of the southbound University Bridge into Seattle’s Portage Bay area, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
A photo captured at the scene shows that a traffic backup had formed in the area some time before 3:11 p.m.
As of this writing, local officials have not disclosed any details regarding the cause or nature of the accident, but the left southbound lane was closed for at least 30 minutes.
By 3:52 p.m., crews had cleared the scene from the roadway, leaving all travel lanes open.
