SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle accident was reported late Monday morning in southeast Seattle’s Rainer Beach neighborhood, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT).

The crash happened on a stretch of Martin Luther King Jr Way South just south of South Norfolk Street. It was first reported by SDOT at 11:11 a.m.

Little information has been released at this time, but the right northbound lane was blocked for over 30 minutes. Motorists were asked to use extra caution as they approach the scene.

A photo captured at the scene shows at least one fire engine responding, though it’s unclear whether anyone was seriously injured or had to be taken to a hospital.

By 11:45 a.m., crews had cleared the accident from the roadway, leaving all travel lanes open to the public.
