SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A wreck late Thursday morning on Interstate 5 had at least two lanes blocked on Interstate 5 near the Snohomish River in Everett, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident impacted the northbound lanes of I-5 just past Marine View Drive, and was first reported by WSDOT at 10:20 a.m.
Officials initially only reported the closure of the left lane, but by 10:30 a.m., two left lanes and at least part of the right lane were shut down. Washington State Patrol, local firefighters, and WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) all responded to the scene, where a significant traffic backup had already formed.
By 10:38 a.m., the right lane had been cleared, and shortly after 11:00 a.m., only the far left lane remained blocked.
While the scene was reported cleared at 11:22 a.m., footage captured at the scene indicates that traffic was still slow in the area.
