SEATTLE, WA — Crews were dispatched to a vehicle wreck Monday morning in West Seattle’s Genesee neighborhood, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
The accident left both the left westbound and eastbound lanes of Southwest Alaska Street at 40th Avenue Southwest. It was first reported by SDOT at 10:05 p.m.
Little information has been disclosed at this time, but the closure remained in place for more than 30 minutes, suggesting a more involved emergency response.
It’s unclear whether anyone was seriously hurt, but a photo captured at the scene shows at least one fire engine responding.

By 10:41 a.m., crews had cleared the scene and all lanes were announced reopened to the public.
