KING COUNTY, WA — Two juveniles were hospitalized with serious injuries Wednesday evening following a pedestrian crash at a Kent crosswalk, according to KOMO News.

The incident occurred in the 10100 block of Southeast 256th Street at around 5:22 p.m.

Kent Police said the two juvenile pedestrians were trying to run across a crosswalk against a red light and a “do not cross” signal when they were struck by an unspecified vehicle.

Details are limited, but both juveniles were treated for “significant” injuries at the scene before one victim was transported by King County Medic One and the other by Puget Sound Fire to a Seattle-area hospital.

The driver, who remained at the scene following the event, cooperated with an investigation, which remains in progress.

All traffic was blocked in both directions during the response but was reopened by 6:13 p.m.
