News: 1 killed in head-on collision on SR-7 near Spanaway

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A two-vehicle crash last Thursday morning near south Spanaway claimed the life of one person, according to KIRO 7 Seattle.

The fatal collision occurred on a stretch of State Route 7 near Weiler Road. It was first reported by the Washington State Department of Transportation at around 7:00 a.m.

Very few details have been made public, but officials indicated that two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in the death of one person.

Officials did not immediately say whether anyone else suffered serious injuries.

Part of SR-7 (Mountain Highway) was shut down from 304th Street to 260th Street. By 10:30 a.m., about 3.5 hours later, the entire roadway was reopened to traffic.
