KING COUNTY WA — A Washington State Patrol trooper was hospitalized Wednesday night after their patrol vehicle was hit at the scene of another wreck in Snoqualmie, according to WSP Trooper Rick Johnson.

The collision took place Interstate 90 near milepost 28, just north of Snoqualmie Point Park. It was first reported some time before 11:45 p.m.

While the agency has not released a sequence of events leading up to the crash, preliminary details indicate a trooper was at the scene of a vehicle accident. At one point, his marked WSP vehicle was hit by a vehicle traveling at the posted freeway speed.

First responders had the trooper transported to an area hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

The causing driver, who was not reported hurt, was evaluated for possible impairment, but officials did not immediately indicate whether an arrest or charge was made.
