KING COUNTY, WA — A span of eastbound Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass was blocked Monday afternoon following multiple crashes and spinouts, according to FOX 13 Seattle.
The incidents prompted at least two separate closures on January 8, the second of which was at the eastbound lanes at Exit 47 to Asahel Curtis Road, southeast of North Bend.
While officials did not specify what how many different accidents occurred or how many different vehicles were impacted, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) issued a “blizzard warning” in the area, to be observed starting Tuesday morning. Many motorists were said to have ignored rules regarding chains on vehicles, which appeared to play a role in the crashes.
No major injuries have been reported in connection to the wrecks.
