News: Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on I-5 in Lynnwood

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person died early Monday after a pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 in Lynnwood, reports King 5.

The incident was reported on the northbound highway near milepost 180, in an area approaching 44th Avenue West. It was first reported by Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding at 12:28 a.m.

Authorities have not specified the events leading up to the crash, but medics arrived on the scene to find the pedestrian deceased.

All northbound lanes in the area were shut down for hours as crews processed the scene. All traffic was forced to divert onto 220th Street Southwest.

By 6:00 a.m., the scene had been cleared from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to the public.


No injuries have been confirmed at this time.
