KING COUNTY, WA — A 29-year-old man was fatally injured Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle moments after another crash on Interstate 90 near Bellevue, reports KOMO News.
The incident was reported on the eastbound lanes of I-90 approaching West Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast at 10:00 p.m.
Washington State Patrol officials said the victim was driving westbound when he crashed his vehicle into a median. Moments later, he got out of the wreckage and ran across all the eastbound lanes of I-90. At one point, he was hit by a 2016 Toyota Camry.
First responders pronounced the victim, Issaquah resident Carlos Giron Bastidas, deceased at the scene.
Authorities spoke with the Camry driver, a 40-year-old man, at the scene before he was ultimately released. The WSP said impairment was not immediately suspected, and no criminal charges are expected to be filed.
