News: Man hit, killed by car on Elliott Ave W in Queen Anne area

SEATTLE, WA — A pedestrian crash Thursday evening in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood claimed the life of a 61-year-old man, reports KOMO News.

The incident occurred on the 600 block of Elliott Avenue West. Seattle Police were dispatched to the scene just before 6:00 p.m.

According to officials, a woman in her 40s was behind the wheel of a vehicle heading northbound on the road when the vehicle struck the male pedestrian in the roadway.

The victim, who was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash, succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite life-saving measures from Seattle Fire Department medics.

An investigation into the cause of the wreck remains underway.
