KING COUNTY, WA — A driver suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning due to a head-on, multi-vehicle crash on State Route 18 in Issaquah, according to King 5.
The accident occurred near a construction zone at the Raging River, prompting a full closure of SR-18 between Hobart-Issaquah Road and Interstate 90, which stayed in place until about 8:30 a.m. Washington State Patrol troopers, the Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT) Incident Response Team (IRT) and Eastside Fire Rescue crews all responded to the scene.
Authorities have not released a sequence of events leading up to the wreck, but the causing driver was transported to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center for life-threatening injuries. They were also placed under custody for suspected DUI.
Two other people were medically evaluated at the scene, but no other hospital transports were reported.
