SEATTLE, WA — Multiple people were sent to a hospital Monday night after a collision on Interstate 5 in Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
The accident happened on the northbound lanes at North Northgate Way, near the Northgate Station shopping center. It was first reported by the Seattle Fire Department at 7:16 p.m.
Although the events leading up to the wreck remain unclear, preliminary details indicate at least two people were trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by responding firefighters.
Crews are responding to a collision on NB I5 at Northgate. There are patients reportedly trapped. Please avoid the area.

By 7:54 p.m., Seattle Fire Department officials said all patients had been removed from the vehicle, and multiple victims were being taken to a local hospital. At this time, the exact number of those injured and the severity of their conditions remains undisclosed.
