SEATTLE, WA — Firefighters had to extricate one person Friday morning following a collision on Interstate 5 in south Seattle, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
The accident took place on the northbound lanes of I-5 approaching South Columbian Way. It was first reported by the SFD at 9:30 a.m.
Details remain limited, but officials confirmed that responding crew members were able to safely remove the patient, who was left trapped in the wreckage of a vehicle. No other information regarding the victim’s condition has been shared, and it’s unclear whether they had to be taken to a hospital.
Crews are responding to a collision on NB I5 at Columbian Way with one person reported to be trapped. Please avoid the area.
