KING COUNTY, WA — Two people lost their lives late Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in northeast Federal Way, according to KOMO News.
The fatal incident was reported on Military Road South at South Star Lake Road, near Star Lake Church. Federal Way Police responded to the scene at around 11:55 a.m.
An early investigation indicates a driver was traveling southbound on Military Road South when, for reasons still under investigation, their vehicle entered the opposing lane and struck two pedestrians on the roadway’s east side. The vehicle then proceeded forward until it collided with a barrier and came to a rest.
First responders pronounced both pedestrians deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. Their identities have not been made public at this time.
The driver was transported to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
The FWPD’s major accident investigation team is working to determine whether impairment played a role in the crash.
