KING COUNTY, WA — A suspected impaired driver was arrested early Thursday after a low-speed wrong-way crash with a WSP cruiser in Bellevue, according to KOMO News.
The collision took place on the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 approaching Interstate 405. According to Washington State Trooper Rick Johnson, it was first reported shortly before 2:00 a.m.
Officials say one trooper was driving an agency cruiser westbound when he spotted a wrong-way driver. Even after the trooper activated his lights, the driver proceeded and collided head-on with the cruiser at 15 mph.
While no injuries to the suspect or the trooper were reported, the suspect was arrested under suspicion of driving while impaired.
