PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A driver suspected of impairment was arrested following a semi-truck crash Tuesday morning near Parkland, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The accident happened on the northbound lanes of State Route 7 at 112th Street East, just south of the State Route 512 ramps. It was first reported by Trooper John Dattilo at 10:32 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate a Challenger was heading northbound on SR-7 when it failed to stop at a red light. Moments later, it was hit by a red semi-truck that was traveling westbound on 112th Street East. The impact caused the Challenger to spin out and collide with a blue Tesla that was stopped in the area.
Following the crash, troopers arrested the driver of the Challenger for suspected DUI.
No significant injuries or hospital transports were reported in the event.
