SEATTLE, WA — An 86-year-old man died Tuesday evening following a crash involving a medical-aid unit in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood, reports KOMO News.

Seattle Fire Department officials said the fatal accident happened in the 500 block of Elliott Avenue West in the early hours of the evening.

Preliminary details indicate that crews were responding to a call in the area and treating a 50-year-old male patient. At one point, an 86-year-old male driver suffered a medical episode and crashed his car into an empty medical-aid unit that was parked at the scene.

The male driver died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.

No one was inside the unit at the time and no firefighters were hurt, but the 50-year-old patient from the initial incident was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
