SEATTLE, WA — Authorities were called to a collision Monday afternoon on Interstate 5 in Seattle’s University District, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened on the southbound lanes of I-5 at Northeast 45th Street. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 2:45 p.m.
While the circumstances of the crash have not been disclosed, the left southbound lane was closed as a result.
Motorists were warned of delays as WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) and Washington State Patrol troopers responded to the scene.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m., over an hour later, crews had cleared the scene from the roadway, restoring all travel lanes to traffic.
