KING COUNTY, WA — A 48-year-old man was fatally injured Wednesday afternoon when he was hit by a vehicle while riding a bike in Kent, according to FOX 13 Seattle.
The incident unfolded at Central Avenue South and East Willis Street, in the city’s Scenic Hill area. Kent Police responded to the area at about 12:33 p.m.
Preliminary details indicate the male cyclist made a sudden turn in the path of a southbound car, resulting in a crash.
Despite life-saving measures administered by officers and medics, the cyclist succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities said that the driver, a 24-year-old man, remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation. At this time, impairment is not believed to have been a factor in the event.
