SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A 35-year-old year-old woman has been identified as the pedestrian who died late last Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 5 in Marysville, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.

The Washington State Patrol said the incident occurred on the northbound interstate near Fourth Street, between the later hours of October 3 and the early morning of October 4.

Details remain limited, but authorities said the victim, Gina Blatchford, suffered fatal injuries when she was hit by a vehicle that continued northbound without stopping.

As of this writing, officials have not been able to release a description of the fleeing vehicle or suspect. Investigators are also still working to determine whether the female pedestrian was in the roadway at the time of the crash.
