SKAGIT COUNTY, WA — A 17-year-old boy died Monday afternoon after his car collided with another vehicle on State Route 20 near southeast Concrete, reports FOX 13 Seattle.
Washington State Patrol officials said the fatal crash happened on a stretch of SR-20 at milepost 93. Troopers were dispatched to the area at about 3:15 P.M.
An early investigation shows the teen was driving a 1993 Honda Accord eastbound on the highway. At one point, for reasons still unclear, his vehicle veered past the center line and broadsided a westbound 2022 GMC Yukon.
Troopers arrived on the scene to find the teen driver deceased at the scene.
Authorities said the GMC’s three occupants survived the accident, but a 37-year-old woman from Sedro Woolley had to be taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the crash remains underway, but drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors. All involved parties are determined to have been wearing seat belts at the time.
