SEATTLE, WA — One person was hospitalized last Wednesday, September 27, following a pedestrian and Sound Transit Light Rail crash in southeast Seattle, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
The incident was reported on the tracks near Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Orcas Street, in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after 3:30 p.m.
While the circumstances of the event have not been specified, responding firefighters confirmed that the patient was not left trapped.
Light Rail traffic was stalled in both directions as crews tended to the scene.
By 3:49 p.m., the patient was being prepared for transport to a local hospital for unspecified injuries.
Martin Luther King Jr Way S & S Orcas St: Paramedics are transporting the patient to a hospital for further medical care. All other units are returning to service.
