KING COUNTY, WA — Tuesday morning commuters faced significant delays due to two separate crashes on northbound Interstate 5 in Tukwila, according to KOMO News.
The first accident, involving a semi-truck, occurred just south of State Route 900, which initially forced the closure of three left northbound lanes. Authorities kept one right northbound lane blocked for over an hour before all travel lanes were declared cleared by about 6:40 a.m.
Another collision had three right northbound lanes closed near Interstate 405, about two miles away, for over 90 minutes. Though the scene was reported cleared at around 5:25 a.m., motorists heading into Seattle were warned that the traffic backups would take some time to reduce.
As of this writing, the Washington State Patrol, which responded to both incidents, has not confirmed any related injuries or disclosed the cause of either crash.
