SEATTLE, WA — A collision Tuesday afternoon in Seattle’s North Beacon Hill neighborhood prompted a response from local fire crews, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
The accident occurred on South Massachusetts Street at Rainier Avenue South, just south of Atlantic Street Park. It was first reported by SDOT shortly before 2:00 p.m.
Although officials have not said what caused the crash, a photo taken at the scene suggests at least two passenger cars were involved, and at least one fire engine is seen responding. One of the involved vehicles has observable front-end damage.
All eastbound and westbound lanes of South Massachusetts Street were blocked during the emergency response.

By 2:43 p.m., more than 40 minutes later, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to the public.
