SEATTLE, WA — Part of northbound Elliott Avenue West in Seattle’s West Queen Anne neighborhood was closed Thursday morning following a collision, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
The crash took place at the intersection with West Mercer Place, near Kinnear Park. It was first reported by SDOT at 5:55 a.m.
Local agencies have not specified the circumstances of the wreck, but a photo captured at the scene indicates at least two vehicles were involved.
Only the far right northbound lane was initially blocked, but by 6:41 a.m., more than 40 minutes later, all northbound lanes of Elliott Avenue West were shut down. Motorists were asked to avoid the area.

At 7:26 a.m., more than 1.5 hours after the initial report, crews had cleared the scene from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
