SEATTLE, WA — Part of northbound Elliott Avenue West in Seattle’s West Queen Anne neighborhood was closed Thursday morning following a collision, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The crash took place at the intersection with West Mercer Place, near Kinnear Park. It was first reported by SDOT at 5:55 a.m.

Local agencies have not specified the circumstances of the wreck, but a photo captured at the scene indicates at least two vehicles were involved.

Only the far right northbound lane was initially blocked, but by 6:41 a.m., more than 40 minutes later, all northbound lanes of Elliott Avenue West were shut down. Motorists were asked to avoid the area.

At 7:26 a.m., more than 1.5 hours after the initial report, crews had cleared the scene from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.

No major injuries have been confirmed at this time.
