KING COUNTY, WA — As many as five vehicles were involved in a wreck Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 405 in north Renton, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident occurred on the northbound side of I-405 at Northeast 44th Street (Exit 7), in the May Creek area. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 12:45 p.m.
Officials have not said what led up to the crash, but footage taken at the scene shows all involved vehicles stopped in the center lane, suggesting a rear-end, chain-reaction crash.
Motorists were urged to use extra caution as emergency crews responded to the scene.

By 1:06 p.m., more than 20 minutes later, the scene was moved to the shoulder, clearing all travel lanes.
