KITTITAS COUNTY, WA — One person was sent to the hospital early Monday after a rollover crash that led to another wreck on Interstate 90 in Cle Elum, according to King 5.
Washington State Patrol officials said a rollover crash involving a semi-truck was initially reported in the area at about 9:40 a.m.
The circumstances of the incident were not immediately clear, but the semi’s 43-year-old driver, accused of negligent driver, had to be transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
One westbound lane was closed during the emergency response and investigation. At one point, while crews were attending to the scene, another driver entered the blocked lane, causing their vehicle to collide with a Washington State Department of Transportation attenuator truck.
The second collision prompted a complete closure of westbound I-90.
Authorities have not reported about any major injuries or pending charges regarding the second incident, but many crew members at the scene were narrowly missed.
