SEATTLE, WA — A crash Thursday afternoon blocked a left lane on the Interstate 5 Express in downtown Seattle’s Pike/Pine area, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened on the northbound side of I-5 Express approaching Union Street, near the Seattle Convention Center. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 3:50 p.m.
Officials did not say what led up to the wreck or how many vehicles were impacted, but Washington State Patrol troopers arrived on the scene shortly after 4:00 p.m.

By 4:41 p.m., about 50 minutes after the initial report, crews had cleared the vehicles from the roadway and all travel lanes were announced reopened.
