SEATTLE, WA — Authorities responded to a wreck Thursday morning that blocked two left lanes on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The collision took place on the northbound lanes of I-5, just south of Seneca Street. It was first recorded by WSDOT at 5:55 a.m.
While no information regarding the cause of the accident or the involved vehicles has been shared, the event prompted a response from WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) and the Washington State Patrol.

The two left northbound lanes were closed for nearly an hour. By 6:54 a.m., the closure had downgraded to only the far left lane, though delays appeared to linger.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was hurt and/or had to be transported to a hospital.
