SEATTLE, WA — A man died Monday afternoon following a single-vehicle accident at Carkeek Park in northeast Seattle, according to KOMO News.
The crash happened in the 1400 block of Northwest Carkeek Park Road. Crews with Seattle Fire Department were dispatched to the scene shortly after.
While the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation, KOMO News observed that heavy rain in the region created slick road conditions. The man was driving in the area when his vehicle collided with a tree, leaving him trapped.
Authorities said the male driver was removed from the vehicle and administered life-saving measures by responding paramedics but he succumbed to his injuries. The victim, believed to be in his 40s, has not been identified as of this writing.
No other occupants or vehicles appear to have been involved.
An investigation remains in progress.
