SEATTLE, WA — Authorities are investigating are investigating two crashes early Friday at cannabis dispensaries in southeast Seattle and the city’s SoDo neighborhood, reports FOX 13 Seattle.
King County deputies were called to the first incident at Kings Recreational Cannabis Dispensary 21+, along Martin Luther King Jr Way S, shortly after 2:30 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate a dark-colored Hyundai was used to slam into the shop, leaving the storefront damage, but the suspects had not been able to enter the business. By the time officers arrived on the scene, the suspects had reportedly fled in another Hyundai.
At around 3:15 a.m., less than an hour later, a Hyundai was reported to have crashed into Dockside Cannabis along Fourth Avenue in the SoDo. The second storefront also sustained damage, and a number of items had been taken from the shop.
Authorities indicated that the suspects had been able to flee the second scene, but a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe was recovered for processing.
The SPD has not confirmed the relationship between the two incidents, as an investigation remains in progress.
