KING COUNTY, WA — A 20-year-old man died Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle while operating a motorized scooter in Lake Forest Park, according to KOMO News.
The fatal accident took place in the 19000 block of State Route 104 (Ballinger Way Northeast), near Northeast 190th Street, at around 8:30 p.m.
Lake Forest Park Police have not disclosed the events leading up to the wreck, but the young man died from his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his mid-30s, stayed after the incident and cooperated with officers. He was not suspected of impairment.
Authorities had a section of SR-104 shut down in both directions following the event, but by 11:40 p.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
The Washington State Patrol was called to the scene to assist in an investigation, which remains ongoing.
