KING COUNTY, WA — A man died Tuesday morning after ejecting from his motorcycle during a crash in east Renton, according to FOX 13 Seattle.
The collision took place in the area of Duvall Avenue Northeast and Northeast 4th Street, at about 8:00 a.m.
Renton Police Department officials said the victim was operating a motorcycle westbound on Northeast 4th Street. As he approached the intersection, he tried to change lanes to pass a slower-moving vehicle. As the motorcycle entered the intersection, he traveled into the path of a Honda SUV that was about to turn left onto Duvall Avenue from eastbound 4th Street. The rider, who is believe to have been traveling at a high rate of speed, quickly slammed on his brakes, which caused the bike to skid toward the SUV. He was ejected from the motorcycle and thrown against a sign pole along the sidewalk.
The motorcycle came to rest wedged underneath the Honda’s front-end.
Despite life-saving measures administered by a witness, the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An investigation remains open and ongoing.
