KING COUNTY, WA — Authorities were called to a vehicle wreck Friday morning on Interstate 5 in southeast Shoreline, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident impacted the southbound lanes of I-5, just north of Exit 175 to Northeast 145th Street, in the city’s Parkwood area. It was first reported by WSDOT shortly before 9:50 a.m.
While the events leading up to the crash are unclear, the left southbound lane was initially blocked.
By 10:06 a.m., local firefighters and WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) had arrived on the scene, shutting down the right lane.
Footage captured in the area shows traffic moving at a slow but steady pace past the accident. Delays were expected.
UPDATE: The collision on SB I-5 just north of NE 145th St in Shoreline is now blocking the right lane. Fire and Incident Response are on scene.
