KITTITAS COUNTY, WA — A semi-truck car hauler caught fire Wednesday afternoon, blocking part of Interstate 90 in east Cle Elum, according to King 5.
The Washington State Patrol said the events unfolded on the eastbound side of I-90, forcing a closure at Exit 85 to State Route 970. It was first reported by the District 6 Public Information Office at 12:49 p.m.
Authorities did not say whether a collision or mechanical issues caused the fire, but the eastbound interstate remained closed for nearly two hours, suggesting an extended emergency response.
By 2:39 p.m., the scene had been cleared and the roadway was reopened to traffic.
No major injuries were reported in the incident.
