SEATTLE, WA — A crash involving a Sounder train late Tuesday afternoon blocked part of the West Seattle Bridge in Seattle’s Industrial District, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
The accident occurred on a stretch of the bridge (South Spokane Street) at 2nd Avenue South. It was first reported by SDOT shortly before 4:30 p.m.
Authorities have not specified the circumstances of the wreck, but both eastbound and westbound lanes of South Spokane Street were shut down in the immediate aftermath.
Motorists were instructed to seek alternate routes around the scene.

By 5:35 p.m., more than an hour later, all lanes were announced reopened.
